CSP2026: Engaging our employees around the world
Aug 2, 2026

How Town Halls across regions are helping colleagues connect our new corporate strategy to their everyday work and shape a shared sense of One Astellas.

Connecting globally, engaging locally

On May 26, Astellas launched our new Corporate Strategic Plan 2026 (CSP2026). During the weeks since launch, Astellas leadership has held hybrid Town Halls in Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Colleagues across regions and time zones joined these sessions to engage in dialogue with leaders and deepen their understanding of the new strategy. They explored how CSP2026 can help create and deliver greater VALUE faster for patients over the next five years.

More than 9,000 colleagues participated in these discussions, asking questions and sharing perspectives. These opportunities for dialogue have played an important role in helping colleagues build a deeper understanding of CSP2026.

Japan

In Japan, the initial global Town Hall was held at our headquarters and marked the beginning of our company-wide dialogue about CSP2026. Colleagues asked questions and demonstrated strong interest in the company's future direction.

The message from our Astellas leadership team was clear: understanding CSP2026 is only the beginning. Its success depends on how it is translated into everyday decisions and actions.

United States

In the United States, the Town Hall continued that momentum. Naoki Okamura, Representative Director, President and CEO, reiterated the four Strategic Goals under CSP2026 before joining leaders from across the organization for an open discussion.

Colleagues in the room, as well as those joining online, had the opportunity to engage directly with leadership, reinforcing the connection between the strategy and the work taking place across Astellas every day.

United Kingdom

In the United Kingdom, the Town Hall extended the conversation by providing colleagues in the U.K. and across Europe with an opportunity to explore what CSP2026 means in their local context.

Following Naoki's presentation, colleagues joined a panel discussion with senior leaders to discuss topics such as the R&D roadmap, ambitions for Astellas' Strategic Brands and the importance of developing talent. The session provided an opportunity for open dialogue and candid exchange of perspectives across functions and leadership levels.

While each Town Hall had its own character, they shared a common purpose: to help colleagues understand their role in turning a global strategy into action.

Voices from across Astellas

Across regions, colleagues are responding to CSP2026 with curiosity and a strong sense of engagement.  While every colleague's perspective is unique, a strong sense of interest and optimism is emerging across regions.

Japan

"Naoki's message about creating a better future for patients and their families truly resonated with me. It reinforced my belief that by living our Organizational Values and Behaviors —especially Courage and Sense of Urgency—we can create greater VALUE for patients."

United States

"I was pleased to hear Naoki emphasize that his vision for AI investment is to empower employees and enable new ways of working. He spoke about creating more white space for innovation, problem-solving and strategic thinking as a people-centered approach to transformation."

United Kingdom

"Being part of the town hall and hearing directly from Naoki made CSP2026 feel personal. It was encouraging to see such a strong focus on dialogue, patient impact and how we can collectively help build Astellas into a sustainable growth company."

Turning strategy into action

These reflections from employees highlight an important shift.

CSP2026 is no longer something abstract. It is becoming something colleagues can relate to and discuss.

There is also a growing sense of shared responsibility. Across teams and regions, colleagues are recognizing that delivering CSP2026 depends not only on direction, but also on how people can and must work together and support one another in achieving our common goals.

As Naoki noted during the Town Halls:

"Understanding CSP2026 is an important first step. What truly matters now is how we translate CSP2026 into action through our daily work and conversations. Achieving this requires the involvement of every employee – each of us must now consider what the strategy means within our own role and apply it."

As Astellas moves forward, the momentum created through these Town Halls continues to grow. Through collaboration and action, colleagues across Astellas are helping to shape the future of the company and fulfil our goal to create and deliver greater VALUE faster for patients.

We will continue to share updates on the progress of CSP2026 through a variety of communications channels.
